So we’re trying something exciting and new today: a vowelless crossword! What is a vowelless crossword, you ask? Well it’s fairly simple. Instead of writing out the complete answers for the clues, you only write the consonants in the grid. For example, if the clue reads [Classic video game in which players try to reach flag poles], you’d fill in the squares with SPRMRBRS instead of SUPER MARIO BROS. And just to simplify things, none of the original answers to clues in this grid contain the letter Y, so you needn’t worry about deciding whether to omit it or not.
And remember! Answers can start with vowels and may be two or more words! There’s a steep learning curve here, but that’s no reason to give up! When you’re finished, you can check out the expanded answers here in case there’s an entry or two that you don’t recognize or can’t seem to connect without the vowels.
One last note: Thanks, Rex, for the plug last week. New solvers, feel free to stop in anytime you like and say hello in the comments or engage me in some of the social media nonsense you’ll find on the sidebar. Old solvers, you’re still awesome.
