Puzzle #44 – Office Olympics

"Phyllis by a nose. Gold medal in Flernenton." "Flonkerton."

Sorry, I’m still reeling from last night’s finale of “The Office.” No spoilers in the puzzle. Promise.

In Kickstarter puzzling news, Peter Gordon has launched a project called Fireball Newsweekly Crosswords. Check it out! My own puzzlefest will be going out to backers soon; I’m still waiting on backer info from a few folks whose responses need to be included in the final version. If you haven’t filled out your backer survey, please do so.

GENIUS theme. the 45-/52-a stack is nifty. ditto the 66-a/46-d clues.

Not an Office watcher, but it still made for a fun puzzle Neville! Liked the clues for 26-a and 37-a.

And in chronological order, TO BOOT, very impressive. I’ll admit that I had a DNF because of 9-D crossing those names, but looking back now I see that the letters are totally reasonable and inferable. The 66-A/46-D combo was neat, and I love 26-A

  4. Andy says:

Very cool theme. Particularly liked 26-A, plus all the law-talk!

  5. Tyler Hinman says:

Is there a typo in 15A or am I missing something?

  6. Bruce says:

Fun puzzle — didn’t run into any big problems — got a little thrown by 8D and 15A, but finally figured it out.
