If you’re reading this, the world hasn’t ended… yet. Thanks for the kind words in the comments about last week’s puzzle. As I wrote, it was my first go at that sort of puzzle. I’m glad to know it was successful.
Happy Christmas! I’ve got the LA Times crossword on Boxing Day (that’s this coming Wednesday). Solve it in your local paper or online then. For those of you who prefer the PUZ/PDF option, I’ll have those for you next Friday. Patience is a virtue!
Help! The .pdf File only brings up the filled-in grid, and the Solution option does also!
Give it another shot now.
Thanks.
Thanks for pointing out the problem! :)
i love the theme entries to death. or rapture or whatever.
Fun, fast-solving puzzle. :)
Challenging but solvable with help from the perps. Got 1 wrong because I couldn’t spell SEHR right, which explains why ROPE didn’t look right in 55D. Guess I should have thought more about that one! Good puzzle with a timely theme, Neville!
I might quibble with ULTIMATE since it’s not really used in the same sense as the adjectives in the other theme answers, but that’s pretty minor. Liked this one. Had a hard getting started for some reason. Ran all the way down to the bottom before I had many gimmes and then worked my way back up. Not my usual solving pattern, so i give this one props for the challenge. Happy holidays, Neville! Keep ’em coming. (Please …)
Indeed, LAST is used in a different sense as well (as in ‘the most recent’). It’s all screwed up :) Happy holiday!
I love your puzzles but I can’t open the .puz file on my iPad this week!? Anybody else having this issue?
I’m having the same issue on my iPad. .puz file brings up gibberish instead of a file. Hope it’s not a sign of the end of the world 😉 Love the puzzles Neville.
Can’t open it on mac or iPad either
Thanks, y’all. I’ve reuploaded the .puz files. Can’t imagine what the issue is here. (I haven’t got an iPad to test it on though; I’ll see what I can dig up online.) Hope this is a one-time issue!
Update. .puz works fine on Windows 7 laptop.
nice LAT puzzle too
